Summary of Position:
Principal Duties:
- Be available to residents by remaining visible as much as possible.
- Document all significant resident activity and any resident behavioral issues or care needs which need to be addressed. Complete incident reports, as needed, and ensure necessary follow-up actions are in place.
- Provide care in a manner that respects residents’ dignity and uses mental health recovery principles to encourage residents to seek wellness and reach their personal goals.
- Ensure building security and complete regular walking rounds throughout the night.
- In case of emergency or crisis, coordinate communication with on duty staff, emergency personnel and notify the on-call administrator as needed.
- Maintain current CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration certifications at all times. Administer PRN medications as needed and early morning medications (from the portable medication cart).
- Receive and give verbal reports of any significant resident issues or care needs at the beginning and end of the shift, completing updates of resident shift notes.
- Complete housekeeping tasks as assigned.
- Complete administrative support tasks as assigned, including: Scanning resident files, filing and organizing resident files, purging former resident files when required; complete review of current resident inspection files; maintain accurate and updated profiles in electronic health record and medication administration record.
- Work to build and maintain healthy rapport with all residents and staff.
- Attend staff or department meetings as able (recommend quarterly).
- Pray regularly for spiritual, emotional and physical wellbeing of residents and for your own insight and wisdom.
Schedule:
This position has the following full-time schedule of approximately 40 hours per week:
- Weekly: Sunday – Thursday Nights 11:00pm to 7:00am
- Occasional training will be required in addition to and outside of regular work hours.
- In addition to above requirements, all staff are encouraged but not required to attend and participate in occasional special community events and meetings.
- Holidays: Expected to work either Thanksgiving or Christmas/Christmas Eve each year.
